We are excited to welcome Marie Chiba to the Australian Sake Festival in Sydney!

Marie Chiba is no stranger to many sake lovers across the globe. She’s a distinguished Sake Sommelier, a Sake Samurai and a passionate sake advocate. After blowing people’s minds with her incredible food & sake pairings at Tokyo’s much loved GEM by MOTO, she recently opened her very own venue called EUREKA! which is now possibly the hippest sake bar in Tokyo, Japan.

Originally from Iwate Prefecture, Marie transitioned from a career as a systems engineer in the insurance industry to the food and beverage sector due to her growing passion for sake. Her extensive travels to sake breweries and liquor stores across Japan, combined with her training at the National Research Institute of Brewing, have made her a revered expert in the field.

Marie is known for her innovative approach to sake, offering selections tailored to individual preferences and creating unique pairing experiences. In 2019, she was honoured as a “Sake Samurai,” recognising her contributions to promoting sake and Japanese food culture globally. At the festival, Marie and her EUREKA! team will have their very own booth, where customers will be able to enjoy some of her magical pairings.

EUREKA! opened its doors in late 2022 and is one of Tokyo’s most thriving and hippest sake bars. Owner Marie Chiba offers delicious and unique tasting experiences where guests can enjoy pairing Japanese sake with a variety of dishes, including Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. 

At the Australian Sake Festival, EUREKA! will be bringing a little taste of Tokyo to Sydney!
