Following its overwhelming popularity last year, the chopstick-making workshop will return to the Australian Sake Festival Melbourne in 2025, offering visitors a unique opportunity to create their very own pair of chopsticks with guidance from master Japanese artisans.
Craftsmen from Hashitou-Honten will travel from Japan to share their skills and craftsmanship exclusively at the festival. This hands-on experience provides more than just a souvenir—it’s a meaningful connection to Japanese tradition and artistry.
During the workshop, you’ll learn the basics of traditional chopstick-making while crafting a set that reflects your personal style. Each session is led by the Hashitou-Honten team and takes approximately 60 minutes.
Spaces are limited to 6 participants per session, so we recommend arriving early to secure your spot. Participation is $25 + GST, payable on the day of the event.
